After some discussion in the shop about role-playing in the Iron Kingdoms I’m getting the DM’ing bug again I used to run some fortnightly RPG sessions back in the UK and was gearing up some D&D Ravenloft session here in Australia. Well the Ravenloft is drifting so I’m going to throw out three suggestions for roleplaying and see who bites what....
AKA D&D in the Warmachine universe. In fact, it was a D&D (£rd edition) setting before the wargame came along. If you think of it as normal D&D, but a little grittier and the magic items having a bit of tech’ to them you won’t be far wrong. You won’t be a Warcaster (for a long while) but Gun Mages, bodgers and Orborus Druids are all possible. As is being Trollkin, Ogruns and gobbers. I’ll be running The Witchfire Trilogy - set a few years before the Invasion of llael.

Dimension hopping invaders have teamed up and invaded Earth to harness the energy of its multitude of possible futures. These invaders are from different universes where different laws of science and magic hold sway and their own reality is beginning to assert itself on the territory they’ve conquered. Heroic individuals of Earth and rebels from the Invader’s own realms fight back against the evil conquerors. This is true ‘multi-genre’ role playing with the players being from a variety of settings working together. A good oppurtunity for those new Chronoscope’figures.
A Grim World of Perilous Adventure. This will be the classic ‘Enemy Within’ Campaign from the early days of the original edition - using the second edition rules. Lofty heroes (well, beggers rat catchers or similar high ranking individuals) will get caught up in a web of intrigue and adventure. Low magic and brutal combat - so be warned!
